Generator End-Cap Structure Components

Front-end Cover (Drive End Cover)
It is typically equipped with bearings that support the front end of the rotor shaft, and some front covers are also cast with mounting arms, adjustment arms, and air vents, making it easier to install and adjust the tension of the drive belt.
Rear Cover (Rectifier End Cover)
It is equipped with bearings supporting the rear end of the rotor shaft, as well as a rectifier, carbon brushes, and brush holders. All terminal posts are mounted on the rectifier end cover for easy connection to external circuits. Additionally, the rear end cover may also house a voltage regulator (which is not part of the generator itself but is typically installed inside its protective housing).
Special structure
Split-half structure: Large and medium-sized hydrogen-cooled steam turbine generator end covers, due to their large shaft cross-sectional area, typically feature a left-right symmetrical split-half design for ease of installation and maintenance.
Reinforced rib design: Adding reinforcing ribs to the outer surface of the end cap enhances structural strength, enabling it to withstand high-stress conditions.
Steel sleeve inlay: To enhance the mechanical strength and wear resistance of the bearing bore, some end caps have steel sleeves embedded inside the bearing housing holes.
